08 DAYS GOLDEN TRIANGLE TOUR

 

FROM APRIL 2015 - 30 SEPTEMBER 2015

 

Day 01:          Arrival Delhi (D)   

Upon arrival in New Delhi, you will receive a warm welcome at the International Airport by our representative and will be transferred to hotel. CHECK-IN NOON. Overnight  stay at hotel.

 

Day 02:          Delhi (B D)

After breakfast, visit a combined city tour of Old & New Delhi. In Old Delhi, visit the Raj Ghat, - memorial to Mahatma Gandhi & the Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India. Drive past Red Fort - a marvel in red sandstone (Closed on Mondays) and Chandni Chowk – an opulence market of perfumes. Later visit India Gate (memorial to the Indian army soldiers who died in` the World War I) and drive past the Rashtrapati Bhawan (formerly the viceroy's residence) and the Parliament House. Also visit Humayun’s Tomb & the 12th century Qutab Minar, gracefully hand-carved for its entire height of 234ft, and the iron pillar, which has withstood the ravages of time and not rusted even after 1500 years. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 03:          Delhi – Jaipur (265 kms / 05 hrs drive) (B D)

After breakfast drive to Jaipur. On arrival Jaipur, transfer to hotel. Evening free to visit the colorful markets of  The Pink City - Jaipur”. Overnight stay at hotel.

   

Day 04:          Jaipur (B D)

After breakfast, visit Amer Fort. Enjoy Elephant ride to ascend the fort. Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani Fort Palace. Inside the Fort, visit the Jag Mandir or the Hall of Victory, famed Sheesh Mahal - a room with all the four walls and ceiling completely embedded with glittering mirror pieces. Enroute to Amber Fort, you will have a brief photography stop at Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Winds. Afternoon visit Pink City including Maharaja's city Palace, the former Royal residence part of it converted into a museum. One of the major attractions in the museum is the portion known as Armoury Museum housing an impressive array of weaponry-pistols. Later visit the Jantar Mantar, which is the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world. Situated near the gate of the city palace, the observatory has 17 large instruments, many of them still in working condition. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

 

Day 05:          Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra (240 Kms / 06 hrs drive) (B D)

After breakfast, drive to Agra en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, built in 1571 and 1585 it is a finest example of Mughal architectural splendour though the city in ruins.  Fatehpur Sikri – Lying 40 kilometers southwest of Agra, this magnificent fortified ghost city was constructed by Akbar in 1659 to honour the Chisti Saint, Sheikh Salim, who foretold the birth of Akbar's son, Jahangir. The city is a combination of Hindu and Persian architecture, and is in a remarkable state of preservation. It is a fine example of a Mughal city at the height of the empire’s splendor. Akbar's court occupied this city until it was abandoned, after the local wells went dry. On arrival in Agra, transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 06:          Agra (B D)

After breakfast visit the world famous Taj Mahal & Agra Fort. Taj Mahal (Friday closed), described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love, it was constructed by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial to his queen Mumtaz Mahal, made out of white marble and took 22 years to complete.  What makes the Taj unique is its perfect proportions, distinct femininity, medium of construction and ornamentation. Later visit Agra Fort, construction of the massive red sandstone was begun by Emperor Akbar in 1565, though additions were made up until the rule of his grandson, Shah Jahan. It is an imposing structure with walls of red sandstone almost three kilometres long. It houses halls of public (Dewan –E- Aam) & private (Dewan –E- Khas) audiences. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

 

Day 07:          Agra – Delhi (203 Kms / 4 hrs drive) (B D)

After breakfast, drive to Delhi. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 08:          Delhi – Departure (B)

Breakfast at hotel. CHECK-OUT NOON.

 

Later transfer to the airport to board the flight for onward destination.
